Thats right, when the game is sent to the duplicators to be mass produced, it is 'classified' as gone gold because of the golden 'master disc' that is used to make all the other copies. I found it funny that they used the term 'gone gold' the other day on the forums thinking to myself " man ... if it's only gone gold today and they expect to get the cd's packed bundled and shipped in less than a week- we may not see this till the begining of May!" So, I am pretty sure 'but obviously not entirely sure' that 'it went gold' more than just a couple weeks ago. Regardless, we cannot use going gold anymore because now I am pretty sure that the new way to 'master' cd's is by etching a 'glass disc'. So now we have to say ... 'The game's gone Glass!!' |
